Report on the World Health Day 2010 events held in Stavropol city
On the eve of the 7th of April, 2010 the information reel about the World Health Day was displayed on a LED monitor in the Stavropol downtown.
The press-conference devoted to the World Health Day was arranged in the Stavropol city administration hall. During the conference there was the Health Profile of Stavropol youth presentation and the awarding ceremony of the Health festival winners held from the 7th of April, 2009 till the 7th of April, 2010. During the festival at the enterprises and institutions of the city there were review competitions “The healthiest class”, “To a healthy family through a kindergarten”, “The healthiest pedagogicalcommunity”, “The best organization of the preventive work in the municipal healthcare institutions of Stavropol city”, “The best sport institution”, “The healthiest group of higher and specialized secondary educational institutions of Stavropol city”, “The best program or publication, devoted to health problems” “The healthiest employees of the enterprise”, “The healthiest dish”. A review competition “The healthiest family” was held for the first time.
On the 7th of April the city events “Stop hypertension!”, “Get weight down!” (arterial pressure and body mass measuring; distribution of prophylactic materials among 12 000 citizens) were held at the preschool and general secondary educational institutions, city drugstores, healthcare institutions, major shopping centers (such as “Niagara”, “Semiya”, “Telemir”, “Stavropol”, “Selena”, “Metro’, “Kosmos”, “Magnit”, “Triumph”, “Yunost”, “Troyka”), at the enterprises (South Telephone Company, “Electroavtomatika” JSC , “STAPRI” JSC, “ESCOM” Ltd), Ministry of Education, Labour and Social support department of the Stavropol city administration, pension fund, district administrations of Stavropol city.
42 Stavropol city administration and Stavropol city Duma representatives took part in the event “Give a chance to lungs!” on the 5th of April, 2010. Having listened to the lecture “Everything about tobacco” participants of the event were diagnosed on the “Micro CO” and got recommendations how to stop smoking taking into account their smoking status.
On the 5th – 7th of April the events “Health is in fashion!” and “Attention! Children!” were held by the Stavropol city young activists with participation of the general educational institutions pupils and the State Road Traffic Safety Inspection department of Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On the 5th – 8th of April, 2010 within the event “Solidarity” the district administrations representatives and sponsors attended hospitals, orphanages, nursing homes. Within the event “Help children!” medical examination of children in care of Leninskiy district administration of Stavropol city was organized together with Stavropol state medical academy.
On the 7th of April the city event “Walk to work!” was arranged. Many citizens of Stavropol, local authorities’ representatives, the Head of the Stavropol city administration Paltsev N.I. and the Stavropol city Duma chair Lutsenko Ye.G. took part in it.
On the 7th of April during the World Health Day wholesome dishes were on the menu of Stavropol catering enterprises.
On the 5th – 8th of April, 2010, ten short films and reels about preventive measures were shown by the regional TV channels.
The city photo exhibition about the World Health Day arrangement in Stavropol city has been preparing.
On the 5th – 9th of April, 2010, such events as “Week of Health”, sports and fitness events, “Lessons of Health”, lectures “About healthy way of life” for 500 Stavropol state medical academy students included, 10 TV and radio programs about healthy way of life, book exhibitions, discussions, class events about healthy way of life and physical training and sport benefits, posters and pictures contests about healthy way of life were organized and held at the city districts, educational and cultural institutions, higher and specialized secondary educational institutions, medical and preventive institutions, teenagers’ clubs, social institutions for family and children, physical training and sport institutions of Stavropol city.
On the 7th of April, 2 000 pupils of general educational institutions and 600 elderly people of Stavropol city took part in the city morning exercises which were held on the Lenin square. The Head of the Stavropol city administration N.I.Paltsev, the Stavropol city Duma chair Ye.G.Lutsenko and the Honored Master of Sports V.A.Skakun greeted the participants of the event. At the same time there were morning exercises in all general educational institutions of the city.
On the 7th of April the event “Run if you want to be healthy!” was held. Within the event there was the run race of the Stavropol city administration and Stavropol city Duma representatives together with higher educational institutions students. It took place on the A.P.Ermolov avenue. The Stavropol city Duma chair Ye.G.Lutsenko, the Stavropol city Duma deputy I.V.Bogdanov, the Stavropol city Duma deputy O.Timofeeva, the executive officer N.D.Zhukov, the Head of Oktyabrskiy district administration I.V.Serov took part in the run race.
At 12.00 a.m. on the 7th of April the cycle race of the Stavropol city administration and the Stavropol city Duma representatives together with 100 higher educational institutions students and 300 general educational institutions pupils was organized in the culture and amusement park “Pobeda”.
At 1 p.m. on the 7th of April the cycle race of Stavropol city administration representatives together with general educational institutions pupils was held on the Health Path in the “Tamanskiy forest dacha”. The first deputy of Stavropol city administration A.V.Kurbatov and the head of Promyshlenniy district D.N.Sudavtsov took part in it.
From 2 p.m. till 6 p.m. on the 7th of April street sport competitions were held on the Lenin square. 3 000 people took part in them.
